Alexis Gros

D. in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and a B.A. in Sociology from the same university. He currently works as a researcher and professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. He holds the position of Assistant Researcher at CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research, Argentina) and teaches at the Sociology Department of the UBA. He has carried out research stays in Germany funded by the Alexander Humboldt Foundation, the DAAD and the Coimbra Group. In 2020 he received the Ilse Schutz Memorial Prize from the Alfred Schutz Circle. He is co-editor of the books The Palgrave Handbook of Macrophenomenology and Social Theory (ed. Palgrave Macmillan, together with Carlos Belvedere) and Phänomenologie und Kritische Theorie (ed. Suhrkamp, together with Hartmut Rosa and Jochen Dreher). He has published several articles on phenomenology and Critical Theory in international scientific journals. He is also translator into Spanish of the following books: Problemas de la sociología del lenguaje, by Alfred Schutz (ed. Gorla); Fenómenos del poder, by Heinrich Popitz (ed. FCE); Resonancia (ed. Katz) and Lo indisponible (ed. Herder), both by Hartmut Rosa; and Tardomodernidad en crisis, by the same author in cooperation with Andreas Reckwitz (ed. NED).
